Sundays at the Bulli Showground will become a melting pot of delicious offerings, fresh produce, live music, kids’ activities and, once a month, artisan products.
The brainchild of Thirroul mother of five and designer Kirrily Sinclair, the Foragers Markets start on July 13 and will showcase regional produce.
Charity and non-profit groups will also be at the markets, with free stalls and fund-raising initiatives provided.
‘‘I wanted to present excellent local and regional producers of food to people living in or visiting the area every weekend,’’ Mrs Sinclair said.
‘‘Our monthly makers’ style market will also showcase quality art and design alongside the fantastic range of food.’’
The former Byron Bay resident has a strong passion for produce, creativity and community.
She hopes the markets will be a place to kick back with a newspaper in the recycled furniture ‘‘chill-out zone’’, or grab a coffee and meet up with friends.
‘‘Foragers Markets is a space for those who want to eat more ethically, healthily and economically, while chilling out in a unique space on weekends. It’s about supporting local groups and what markets are strongly about – personal connections,’’ Mrs Sinclair said.
The markets run 9am-2pm each Sunday; the artisan market is on the second Sunday of the month.
Mrs Sinclair wants to hear from local creators, artists, and performers – email foragers.sue@gmail.com.
