Strong winds, big surf hit Illawarra: photos

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a warning for damaging winds and blizzard conditions across the state, saying the Illawarra and South Coast would be among the regions hit by a strong cold front crossing southeast NSW. 

Damaging winds around 60 km/h, with peak gusts of 90 km/h were forecast for late Thursday, and the bureau also issued a gale warning along the Illawarra coast.

Winds are due to ease on Friday, with clouds and showers forecast over the weekend.
