Bieber vows to focus on work after egging
Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has vowed to focus on his music after he was convicted of vandalism for egging a neighbour’s house.
The singer pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour vandalism charge on Wednesday, stemming from the egging incident in January.
Bieber, who was sentenced to five days of community service and ordered to pay $US80,000 in damages, has now spoken about the matter through his legal team, insisting he’s determined to put the furore behind him.
‘‘Justin is glad to get this matter resolved and behind him. He will continue to move forward focusing on his career and his music,’’ a statement released by his lawyers says.
Bieber has since moved out of the gated community in Calabasas, California, after a series of problems with his neighbours, and he is now living in a rented apartment in Beverly Hills.

Kardashian’s lawyer blasts affair claims
Kim Kardashian’s lawyer has challenged a prisoner to take a lie detector test amid allegations he bedded the reality TV star while she was engaged to basketball player Kris Humphries.
Andrey Hicks, a fake hedge fund manager who was sentenced to 40 months in prison for fraud in March last year, claims he’s in possession of an email Kardashian allegedly sent him in 2011.
Hicks says that in the email the reality TV star acknowledges the alleged affair in Monaco and admitted it was ‘‘a mistake’’.
However, lawyer Marty Singer is convinced the note is a fake and he has fired off a scathing letter to Hicks, labelling the prisoner a ‘‘greedy capitalist who went to jail for a greedy scheme’’.
In the message, obtained by editors at TMZ.com, Singer blasts Hicks as ‘‘a swindling convict and a liar’’ and encourages the prisoner to take a polygraph test.
Kardashian wed Humphries in August, 2011 after a whirlwind romance, but the marriage ended just 72 days later.
They were divorced last year, just four months before Kardashian got engaged to US rapper Kanye West.Kardashian and West wed in Italy in May.
