Papergirl, which began in Berlin in 2006, is a worldwide street art movement which randomly gives away free art, in the style of old-school American paperboys.
Last year, Emily Gunthorpe was a Papergirl intern and this year she is co-ordinating the Wollongong event.
"It is great experience and exposure for artists and I have a real passion for bringing art to the community," Miss Gunthorpe said.
During the launch week in August, and in the months leading up to the distribution in November, free workshops, events and markets will be held.
"It is all about collaborating and communicating with community groups," Miss Gunthorpe said.
Art, poetry, music sheets or any creative work from a postcard size to A3 format will be donated from workshoppers and emerging artists in the community.
"Young artists benefit from further exposure and the community are delighted and surprised when we gift them the artwork," Miss Gunthorpe said.
"The emerging Wollongong art community is great as we build partnerships, collaborate and promote each other."
Papergirl Wollongong launches on August 8 and the artwork will be distributed during the Viva La Gong parade in November.
