Paul Edward Davis appeared in court via video link from Long Bay Correctional Complex on Monday, charged with one count each of drinking alcohol on the train and indecent assault.
According to police charge sheets before the court, Davis was at Haymarket between 2pm and 4pm when he removed a woman's breast from her shirt and sucked on it.
Police also allege he had consumed a number of pre-mixed bourbon drinks on the train the same afternoon.
Davis, who was in custody for an unrelated matter, was formally refused bail by Magistrate Michael Stoddart and ordered to reappear in court on August 6.
