Wendi Leigh said it would be an evening function on Thursday starting with demonstrations of how to make up the mature face for a natural glowing effect and how to maintain it.

Ms Leigh said she would also be using the event to showcase local designer jewellery by Marlow.

Wendi Leigh Designs is a homegrown business that has been building a reputation in the region and creating plenty of interest in local networking groups such as Illawarra Women In Business. The store at 1/36-42 Auburn Street, Wollongong, caters for women over 40 who wear real sizes.

The target market is women who have spent years running around helping their children and wanted to take a little more time now on themselves. The business is about helping them get the look they would like so they can look their best.

Mrs Leigh has had her own label since the 1980s and her own boutique since 2012.

Her clothing is made in the workshop at the rear of the store, allowing her to provide custom-made garments.
