The Soweto Gospel Choir dropped into Wollongong on Thursday for a whirlwind sightseeing trip ahead of their show at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre on August 4.

The Grammy and Helpmann-winning South African vocal group, who have collaborated with the likes of U2, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Robert Plant, sing in seven different languages on stage. They arrived in Australia in June and will start the NSW leg of their tour later this month.
The group's first ticketed concert actually happened in Frankston, Victoria, choir member Kevin Williams said.
"Australia helped give birth to our success," he said. "We are very excited to be back."
