A young woman is in a critical condition after crashing her car into a tree on Boollwarroo Parade, Shellharbour, on Thursday night.

Fire and Rescue NSW Inspector Don Pescud said two NSW Fire and Rescue units from Shellharbour and Wollongong had responded to the incident, as well as a pumper from Warrawong and the ambulance rescue helicopter.
Initial reports suggested the woman, believed to be 19 years old, was unconscious but breathing, Inspector Pescud said.
The incident happened about 8.15pm.
A spokesperson for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District said the woman was transported by helicopter to St George hospital, where she remains in critical condition. No other information on her injuries could be provided.
