With the "house full" sign up at Shellharbour Cemetery and a forecast of 15 years until Albion Park is full, Shellharbour Councillor Kellie Marsh says the time is right for the council to start investigating options for a new city cemetery.

On Tuesday night, Cr Marsh will move a notice of motion calling for a report on viable land options for a new cemetery.
The motion also calls for the council to investigate the possibility of people being able to "pre-purchase" burial plots and the concept of offering "triple plots".
Cr Marsh suggested somewhere near the new Calderwood development would be a good location for a new cemetery, or even Dunmore.
"We've been told there is 15 years left at Albion Park, but we have had a large increase in population and will welcome thousands more new residents in coming years and it could be sooner," Cr Marsh said.
"I would prefer to allocate land now instead of working at the last minute."
Cr Marsh said that after recently losing both her parents within 23 days of each other, the concept of pre-purchasing a burial plot could help take away some of the stress and worry that people experience at what is already a difficult time.
Cr Marsh's notice of motion is one of 14 to be presented at Tuesday night's council meeting.
Nine of the notices of motion are from Cr Peter Moran, including one that calls on the proposed administration offices for the City Hub to be named "the Taj Mahal".
