Fifteen groups from eight schools were selected to perform, one or two of which will go on to represent the South Coast area at the State Drama Festival.
Education Department arts co-ordination officer Deirdre Backhouse said the event allowed students to view the high calibre of each other's acts.
Performing were students from years 7-12 from schools as far afield as Jindabyne Central and Braidwood Central, as well as Smith's Hill High School.
Some pieces were composed by students, commenting on the impact of technology, while others were excerpts from famous plays by Shakespeare and other playwrights.
"It is wonderful to see students challenge themselves and develop their drama, time management and social skills and it provides a voice to express themselves," Ms Backhouse said.
"It is a great opportunity for the kids to have the exposure in a professional environment and they build confidence and friendship."
