Albion Park were the happiest of hosts after winning several medals including individual and team gold at the Little Athletics NSW Cross Country and Road Walk Championships at West Dapto earlier this month.

Proud co-hosts with Kembla Joggers, 12 Albion Park juniors from its team of 24 won a medal, led by individual gold medallist Kalani Vella.
The middle distance prodigy won the under 8 boys 800m, backing up his win in the same event in 2013.
Kalani's teammate Zac Herdegen finished 10th and Joshua Daniel 11th to earn the trio the team gold medal.
The Albion Park's under 10 girls also stood proudly on top of the podium after finishing equal first in their 1500m race with Ruby McPhillips sixth, Tayleah Handcock seventh and Jayde Herdegen 17th.
Albion Park under-12 girls Taylah Vella (seventh), Taliah Moxham (10th) and Charlotte Bett (11th) earned the team silver medal while top-10 performances from under-14 boys Finlay McPhillips (sixth), Troy Whittington (eighth) and Luke Hunter (ninth) were also rewarded with team silver.
Other highlights included Shenay Edwards (fourth) running a great race and just missing a medal, with Sinead Austwick (sixth) and Trey Barlow (ninth) among the top 10 in the state.
Albion Park's Sonny Herdegen (17th), Ella Hewitt (14th), Delta Amidzovski (13th), Calany Meyers (28th), Arian Iopreiato (22nd), Abby Cox (29th), Jayda Amidzovski (31st), Keira-Lee Meyers (13th) and Katie Gentles (12th) enjoyed competing against the best young athletes in NSW.
About 800 youngsters braved cold, windy conditions for one of the biggest events on the NSW Little Athletics calendar.
