A special event to promote the Kiama municipality as a canine-friendly community is to take place at Black Beach on Saturday.

Kiama council's ranger services have organised the Canine Carnival, which coincides with the Kiama Produce Markets at the harbour.
Ranger Tom Ward said the event was an opportunity for rangers to "meet and greet" dog owners and their animals and update people on the latest companion animals legislation.
"It is also a chance for people who may have recently moved to update registration details," Mr Ward said.
Kiama's Deputy Mayor Neil Reilly said the Kiama municipality had a high proportion of dog owners and Saturday's event offered the opportunity to celebrate that companionship and the benefits of a canine-friendly community.
Berry veterinarians James Carroll and Anthony Bennett, who feature in The LifeStyle Channel's new documentary series, Village Vets Australia, will be ambassadors for the Canine Carnival.
The Village Vets will present the top 10 tips for looking after your dog in winter and will hold a question and answer session with giveaways.
Other events on the day include an agility dog training show by the Dapto South Coast Training Club and a dog tricks show run by Tony Mitchell from the Wollongong Sports Dog Club.
The Canine Carnival runs from 10am to 2.30pm.
