Stingrays defender Daila-Tais Borg believes Illawarra's clash with Northbridge on Sunday could make or break the club's season.
Illawarra are in a four-team race for the last two finals spots and have just five matches to bridge a six-point gap to Sydney University, who have played one more league match.
Anything but a win against Northbridge could see those finals hopes crumble.
"It is kind of a do-or-die game for us," Borg said.
"We are definitely confident and are pretty keen for a big game, so we are looking forward to it."
The last time the Stingrays met Northbridge they handed the Sydney club an 8-0 hiding.
But this time around, Illawarra will need to bounce back from a crushing 4-1 loss to North West Sydney Koalas last weekend.
"We can't forget the game last week against Koalas, but we just have to move on from it," Borg said.
"We didn't play that badly, we just didn't take our opportunities but that is OK. Nothing really worked for us but you get games like that."
Borg is confident the Rays will find success in the final rounds of the season provided that they stick to their formula.
