Darci Be Good will no longer be seen in the Illawarra Turf Club's colours on race day after the gelding was sold to new owners in North Queensland.
The five-year-old had been a stable star for local trainer Bede Murray, twice winning at Group level.
Darci Be Good won the Group 3 Spring Stakes at Newcastle as a three-year-old before claiming the Group 3 Hawkesbury Gold Cup a year later.
He has won an impressive $475,850 prizemoney to date but failed to finish in the placings in five runs this preparation.
The club's other horse Totally Devoted recently took out the Horse of the Year crown for Kembla Grange.
The Illawarra Turf Club's premierships were decided almost a fortnight ago but a presentation will be held at the next meeting on Saturday August 2.
Presentations will begin after race four on the card.
