The carnival was played at the neutral Collegians home ground at Figtree, with Edmund Rice (ERC) winning the under 13s, 14s, 15s and open-division matches.
The day began well for Edmund Rice with the 13s scoring an eight tries-to-one 38-4 victory.
Sam Thorne and Harvey Austin scored two tries, with Thomas Rodwell, Adam Schuback, man-of-the-match Max Devlin and Mason Scott also crossing.
The Edmund Rice under 14s made amends for a narrow loss in under 13s last year with a convincing 24-12 win.
Edmund Rice skipper Bailey Antrobus was named man of the match for an inspirational performance, while forwards Cooper Thomas and Nassim Elhage took charge up the middle.
The ERC under 15s then wrapped up the shield with a convincing 38-14 victory.
The whole team played well, with Nick Zappia named player of the match.
The ERC open side ensured a rare whitewash in the annual carnival with a 42-6 victory.
Winger Matt McKeon's gazelle-like opening try in the corner set the stage for a magnificent team performance. Thomas Bartley, Tristan Sailor, Jacob Hadaya and Hamish Gadd all crossed for first-half tries.
Man-of-the-match Brett Horsley scored a second-half try, while year 12 student Dan Constable celebrated his last-minute try with a Jarryd Hayne-like run into a crowd of year 12 students and old boys.
While the day belonged to Edmund Rice, Holy Spirit were to be commended for their determined efforts in what was only their third carnival loss in the past nine years.
Edmund Rice dominated the rivalry between the schools through the late 1990s and early 2000s.
