Jenkins will become just the eighth Eagles player to scale the 200-game plateau, a feat he will proudly savour when he retires at the end of the season.
"I probably would've retired last year but I knew I was a chance of getting to 200, so I went around for another year," Jenkins said.
"It was definitely a goal of mine. There's only been seven previous to me, so it's a pretty big honour. I love the club and love playing with the boys."
Jenkins was an integral member of one of the all-time great Group Seven teams: the 2007 Albion Park side, which claimed the premiership without a single loss all season.
A former centre who plays in the forwards these days, he is still a fierce competitor. But the once mighty Eagles are going through a transitional period and will miss the semi-finals for the second straight year.
"Last year and this year have been a bit lean," the 31-year-old policeman said.
"We've got a lot of young players, and myself, Spud [Derek Gray] and Bugsy [Dean Gray] thought we'd go around for a couple of years and help them out a bit.
"I'm definitely retiring this year. It's getting a bit hard on the body. I still love that 80 minutes on the field, but it takes me till Wednesday to get over it.
"There's other commitments with work and family. I can rarely get to training."
Jenkins played one season with Thirroul in the Illawarra competition. But his heart has always been with the Park.
"I ended up with four premierships because I missed out on the '09 premiership when I played a year with Thirroul," he said.
"We lost the [Illawarra] grand final to Wests, and it was pretty tough coming back and watching the boys beat Warilla in the [Group Seven] grand final.
"The '07 season was pretty special, winning the comp undefeated and winning the Clayton Cup. That was a fantastic side. We got beaten by Milton in '05, but that era from '05 to '07 was pretty memorable."
The Continuous Call Team from radio station 2GB will broadcast live from Michael Cronin Oval for Saturday's duel between arch-rivals Gerringong and Kiama.
Kick-off has been brought forward to 2pm, while live coverage begins at noon.
Berry-Shoalhaven Heads will be trying to avoid a third successive loss in Sunday's road game against Shellharbour.
Nowra-Bomaderry host Port Kembla, while Sunday's other game is between Milton-Ulladulla and Warilla at Mollymook Oval.
