Sex Crimes Squad detectives searched a house in Unanderra on September 18, 2013 and seized a laptop and electronic storage devices.

Forensic examinations revealed child abuse material on the lap top.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at 10.15am on Tuesday and later charged at Lake Illawarra Police Station with one count of possessing child abuse material.

He was refused bail and will appear before Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday.
