Now a new destination has been immortalised in decal - Dapto.
The colourful stickers are the creation of radio announcer Ryan Cram, who - born and bred in the world famous dog-racing suburb - wants to spread a bit of Dapto pride.
‘‘Growing up in Dapto, you’re always the butt of everyone’s jokes,’’ Mr Cram said.
‘‘People refer to Dapto as being a hole, or Dapto people being a bit backward, or Dapto being the last place you’d want to live.
‘‘We throw that back at people. We are proud to be from Dapto and will happily display that we are from Dapto.’’
Mr Cram had the sticker’s design drawn up after he saw an Ulladulla sticker and thought Dapto an equally worthy subject.
The design languished for six or seven years before his brother recently chanced on it and encouraged him to take it to market.
It now has its own Facebook page - Dapto sticker, from which it sells for $5 plus $1 postage - and carries ambitions of travelling abroad.
‘‘A few people from Queenland, originally from Dapto, have bought them, so they’ll be getting away in another state,’’ Mr Cram said.
‘‘I’m hoping someone internationally will eventually hit me up.’’
