Needing to win all three of its remaining matches and hopes other results fall their way, the Gunners were officially eliminated after an 88-73 loss at Mount Gambier on Friday night.
The southern conference leaders set up victory with a 25-13 third term, with Ben Allen (22 points, eight rebounds) and Damian Johnson (17 points, ten rebounds) leading the way. Garlon Green (22 points, eight rebounds, three assists) was the standout for Canberra.
Green's 35 points the following night couldn't prevent a 109-79 loss to Ballarat.
In the women's clash 22 points and 10 rebounds from Steph Cumming proved the difference in Ballarat's 69-58 win over Canberra Capitals Academy. Alice Coddington (19 points, 10 rebounds) was Canberra's best.
The Canberra teams finish their seasons at home against Knox on Saturday night.
