The Sydney musicians impressed judges with their originality when they took the stage in front of almost 600 people at Woonona Bulli RSL on Saturday night.
Illawarra band Furious Monk took out second place, followed by reggae act Chuparosa in third.
Ten acts in total - including hip hop, funk and heavy metal bands - vied for the title, but Glab stood out as the most commercially viable.
Event organiser Lincoln Piper said all bands displayed exceptional talent.
"It was fantastic, every band brought it," he said.
"The bands were phenomenal, proving that the Illawarra has formidable talent here and that our music scene is continuing to grow and is a force to be reckoned with in Australia."
Dual ARIA award winner Al Wright, Tumbleweed's Richard Lewis and musicians Scott McRae and Claire Roberts judged the event.
