The litter mate of Wentworth Park track record holder Shakey Jakey will headline the heats of the Group 3 Dapto Maiden (520m) on Thursday.
A son of Brett Lee, Master Shot is primed to make his long-awaited debut at the South Coast track after two impressive trials in Bathurst.
His brother Shakey Jakey set the racing world abuzz when he broke the Wentworth Park 520m track record on his first visit to the track.
Master Shot had shown similar potential before a hock injury kept the potential star from making his first start.
He will jump from box eight in the last of eight heats at Dapto.
"The box isn't the best but I've been through the form and I think he could be hard to beat," trainer David Pringle told thedogs.com.au.
"Whether he puts a time on the board, I'm not sure. If he gets an unhampered run then it's possible.
"I would have loved him to have had seven or eight runs by now but he is still young.
"Sometimes patience is what it's all about."
Master Shot put in a scintillating 25.31sec trial run (450m) in Bathurst before the hock injury. After recovering, he returned to Bathurst for another 450m and ran an eye-catching 25.67 trial.
"It wasn't a career-threatening injury, but we've had to take precautions with him," Pringle told thedogs.com.au.
"It has taken a bit of time. He has not been 100 per cent but by the time of the heats he will be fine and ready to go.
"I'm looking forward to racing this dog. If everything holds up then the next 12 months could be exciting."
This week's eight heats of the Maiden will be followed by semi-finals the following Thursday.
The prestigious final will be on Thursday, August 28.
