The event featured more than 400 competitors from 40 clubs, with Bulli's team of 12 from under-12s to under-17s finishing an excellent 15th overall.

Bulli's under-15s girls' relay team of Kelsey Cresswell, Sheree Farrell, Natasha Burke and Mali Taylor won gold, silver and bronze in the 4x50m obstacle, 4x25m manikin and 4x50m medley relays respectively.

The obstacle relay win set a new Australian record time.

Bulli's other medal winners were Kiamana Fittock, who came second in the U12 girls' 50m freestyle with fins, Alexandra Smiroldo who was third in the girls' U17 200m obstacle race and Natasha Burke was third in the girls' U14 200m obstacle race.

The national championship success follows a fourth placing with three gold, 10 silver and five bronze medals at the NSW Pool Rescue Championships on the Central Coast last month.

Zara Sharman and Fittock claimed gold at their first state titles and the under-15s relay team of Cresswell, Farrell, Burke and Taylor was on top of the podium in the 200m obstacle relay.

Sharman won her gold in the under-12s 50m brick carry, plus she collected three silver medals. Fittock won the under-12s 50m freestyle with fins and two silver medals, one partnering Sharman in the 100m patient tow relay.

The squad thanked Sean Taylor and Keith Caldwell for running training sessions at Wollongong University Aquatic Centre, Leanne Taylor who did a great job as an official at the state titles, and Scott Gordon who performed pool-setting duties at the two-day championships.
