Bragtastic Inbetweener Jay Cartwright may have come face to face with a fruit bat in Australia, but it was talk of possums that really got his drives and juices flowing.
"Dame Edna, she's got some sexual experience - she taught me a thing or two," actor James Buckley said in Sydney on Wednesday night.
Buckley walked the red carpet with his The Inbetweeners co-stars for the premiere of the hit British TV series' second movie spin-off, which charts the gormless quartet's backpacking trip from Sydney to Byron Bay in their car, the Mobile Virgin Conversion Unit.
In the latest instalment, Jay lives up to his reputation for boasting about his fictional sex life, claiming he's bedded every woman in Australia including Elle Macpherson, and also had a threesome with Kylie and Dannii Minogue.
But Buckley, whose highlights of filming the flick Down Under include seeing his first fruit bat, revealed Dame Edna Everage and her wisteria hue offered his character the most memorable sexual experience.
"Beautiful dresses, she wore this wonderful gowns," he swoons.
Blake Harrison, who plays Neil, was more taken with the Australian bush - and not the kind you think he might mean.
"The outback was quite special, just to see a landscape like that because I grew up in London," Harrison says.
But the general consensus among the four actors was that Aussies speak funny.
"Things that are meant to be quite respected, like the Salvation Army, are called the Salvos, which I found weird," Harrison says.
Or renos.
"For renovations," elaborates Joe Thomas, who plays Simon. "It feels like too much has been taken off there, because Renault is a French car maker.
"And doona," interjects Buckley.
"Everyone we ask to explain the origins of that word, like where it's come from, can't really tell us."
Simon Bird, who plays the smooth-talking Will, only learnt the other day what the word pluggers meant.
"Apparently they're flip-flops. Or thongs, as you would say," he says.
All the boys admit they've been overwhelmed by positive feedback on their second and final film.
"The one thing we didn't want to do is let down our fans who enjoyed the first film," Bird says as keen fans looked on in the cinema's foyer. That's why this film's taken so long, we wanted to make sure it was going to be as good as that first one. And people seem to think it's better, so job done."
The Inbetweeners 2 is out on August 21.

Bieber sentenced to anger management class
Pop star Justin Bieber has pleaded guilty to careless driving and resisting arrest without violence in an alleged drag-racing incident in Florida, and will take an anger management class.
During a hearing in Miami on Wednesday, the Canadian pop star, who was not present, agreed to the plea deal, which dropped a more serious charge for driving under the influence. In addition to the 12-hour course in anger management, Bieber agreed to make a $US50,000 ($A54,097.92) dollar charitable contribution.
‘‘Mr. Bieber’s case has come to a conclusion,’’ cheered Bieber’s lawyer, Howard Srebnick, adding ‘‘we are relieved that it is over.’’

In July he was sentenced in Los Angeles to two years’ probation for egg-bombing his neighbours’ home.
Bieber was also ordered to perform community service, join an anger management program, and pay the owners of the vandalised home more than $US80,000 in repairs.

Urban visits Kidman on set in New York
Keith Urban has showed how to keep the romance alive amid a busy schedule by visiting Nicole Kidman on set in the US.
The country music singer took time out from filming American Idol in Nashville to head to New York where wife Kidman is filming her latest flick, The Family Fang.

An almost unrecognisable Kidman looked casual in a button-up shirt, jeans and wore a cap when her high-profile spouse rocked up for some one-on-one quality time.Urban, with whom Kidman has two young daughters, is no stranger to employing strategies for keeping the marriage flame burning, tweeting some romance advice this week.
‘‘Grab your partner, dim the lights, put on SturgillSimpson ‘‘IT AIN’T ALL FLOWERS’’.... trust me, you’re gonna need two cigarettes - KU,’’ he wrote on Wednesday.
Kidman plays the character Annie in The Family Fang, which is based on the best-selling novel of the same title and follows two kids searching for their world-famous parents after they go missing.

Azalea and Ora go Kill Bill in video
Iggy Azalea is exacting revenge, Kill Bill style. But it’s just for the music video to her latest single Black Widow.
Dressed in a white jumpsuit, Azalea does her best Uma Thurman impression in the video, learning sword fighting from a master and taking her revenge out on a king pin character played by fellow Kill Bill actor Michael Madsen.
Azalea has brought in singer Rita Ora on the track who also dons a jumpsuit, this time in red, and helps Azalea on her revenge mission.
The video clearly plays homage to Quentin Tarantino’s two-part film Kill Bill, starring Thurman as The Bride on her own revenge mission.
Another acting heavyweight, Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas) is in the clip playing a card game with rapper T.I. which is interrupted by Ora.
The two girls then face off with Madsen in a club scene but end up in a sword fight with his bodyguards.
Madsen makes his escape but is killed by a black widow spider bite on his hand, the same way his character in Kill Bill dies.Ora and Azalea will be performing Black Widow at the MTV Video Music Awards later this month.
