Group Seven premiers Gerringong face a sudden death defence of their premiership after a shock 14-6 road loss to Albion Park-Oak Flats on Sunday.  The Lions can’t finish any higher than fourth following the three tries to one loss in atrocious conditions.

South Coast Wolves enjoyed the perfect preparation for Wednesday night’s FFA clash with Central Coast after thrashing APIA Leichhardt 5-1 at WIN Stadium. The Wolves rested several players but led 3-0 at halftime.

Illawarra Rugby premiers Camden are finding their best form at the right end of the season after humbling the previously unbeaten Avondale 21-7 at Gerry Cappetta Oval.

Dapto Chiefs consolidated top spot in Illawarra Baseball with strong 8-2 win over Berkeley Eagles at Fred Finch Park. Chiefs out-hit Eagles 13-6, while Chiefs starting pitcher Tyson Graham gave up only four hits and one earned run in seven  innings.

Top trainer Gai Waterhouse notched a winning double at Kembla Grange on Saturday with jockey Thomas Huet steering the promising Muscovado to victory. Waterhouse also won the opening race with Golden Aro saluting.

Two goals in the first ten minutes spearheaded Bulli to another step towards the Illawarra Premier League League Championship with a 2-1 away win over Tarrawanna. Hayden Mowbray and Ben McDonald scored the early goals for Bulli, with Nick Morgan scoring a late consolation goal from the penalty spot for the Blueys.
