The South Coast Wolves have absolutely nothing to lose on Wednesday night.
In what is undoubtedly the biggest game this club has had since the days of the NSL, the FFA Cup stoush with the Central Coast Mariners is a magnificent opportunity.
With limited expectation and maximum reward on offer, the boys can pull off the ultimate Cup surprise.
The Mariners are one of the A-League's most consistent performers and boast an A-League title to their name after winning the competition in the 2012-2013 season.
But while they'll go in as overwhelming favourites on Wednesday night, we aren't discounting our chances.
The squad is brimming with confidence after rounding out the season on a high on Sunday with an emphatic 5-1 win over APIA Leichhardt.
And with very few injuries hampering the squad, [coach] Nahuel Arrarte will have close to a full complement of talent to choose from.
On the flip side, the Mariners are only just getting into their pre-season and have had just one serious hit-out so far against their own Academy outfit.
It guarantees that fitness and match pace are sure to be on our side.
Similar to fellow National Premier League outfit Adelaide City, the boys will be hoping to use that to our advantage.
City scored a fairytale win over the Western Sydney Wanderers last week and we can only hope the feat is replicated at WIN Stadium.
A big crowd would go a long way to helping the club get over the line and make the trip down south all the more difficult for the Mariners.
Wollongong football fans have shown they can turn up for midweek football when the AllStars came to town, now they have another massive chance to show how good support is in the region.
Let's hope the rain clouds clear and WIN Stadium is rocking on Wednesday.
