The under 10s won a playoff game to qualify for the final and stormed to victory 20-16 against Newcastle.
Newcastle dominated the carnival - for age divisions under 10s to under 18s - winning the four other age groups.
The under 12s provided the closest final, with Newcastle beating Central Coast 3-1.
Illawarra finished third and also third in under 14s with Newcastle taking the title with a 16-11 victory over Central Coast.
In under 16s, Newcastle were clearly the best side, beating Illawarra 13-0 in the final. Illawarra had to play a match just before the final in order to qualify while Newcastle benefited from having a rest. Newcastle also had the game off before the final in the under 18s and won the crown by beating Illawarra 11-0 in the decider.
Meanwhile, several Illawarra players performed well and were selected for the NSW Country train-on squad for under 16s and 18s ahead of the national titles next January.
Northern Pirates pitcher Alex Osborne missed the country championships after representing Australia in Mexico in the 15 years World Cup. However, he was an automatic selection for the under 16s Country train-on squad, along with Angus Black and Sam Rada. Illawarra's Mitch Davis, Alex Fisher, Murray Lugg, Jarryd Prince, Joel Thompson and Ryan Wentzel were added to an extended under 18s Country squad.
