• South Coast indie-punk band Latham's Grip recently released a new EP titled Hey Senorita and have locked in a tour supporting the release. They play Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane through October, with a local one slated for Rad Bar on October 23.

• Illawarra acts The Walking Who, Hockey Dad and Step-Panther (including local guys Dan Radburn and Zach Stephenson) have been announced on the Sounds Of The Suburbs festival. The festival, headlined by The Beautiful Girls, is set for Wilbar Lane, Cronulla, on September 28.
• Speaking of The Walking Who, the band have been shortlisted for FBI Radio's Northern Lights competition. Alongside indie up-and-comers like WZRDKID and Airling, the psych-rockers are in the running to be flown to Iceland and play at the Airwaves festival alongside the likes of Caribou, The Flaming Lips and Future Islands. The winner is announced next month.
• Hockey Dad continue their rich run of recent form, being named as supports on the upcoming national tour from Bad Dreems. Hockey Dad will open shows on the September tour which hits Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney.
• Parkside DJs Ben Beverley and Tarant Hill are over in the US, and will play as part of the Burning Man festival in California on Tuesday.
• Illawarra producer Kid Pharaoh has produced three tracks on the upcoming mixtape from popular lyrics website Rap Genius. He has the most credits on the tape and claims to be the only Aussie on the tracklist. Download at rapgenius.com.
• Tickets are selling fast for the Yours and Owls birthday party in Stuart Park - apparently fewer than 150 tickets remain. Looks like it will be the hottest ticket in town come October 4, with Dune Rats and Sticky Fingers headlining.
• The Delta Riggs play the Unibar on September 19; The Audreys are at Anita's on September 6; Die Die Die play Rad September 13; and The Beautiful Girls announced a show at the Unibar on October 16.
