At the Emmys after party, Sofia Vegara and Dancing With the Stars choreographer Derek Hough rocked out a saucy routine to Footloose.
But it wasn't a case of footloose so much as bust loose as Vergara's nipple freed itself.
"It was a full five minutes of him spinning her around the dance floor," an observer told Us Weekly. "No one could quite believe what they were seeing, nor were they able to take their eyes off of it."
No doubt.
No one could take their eyes off Vergara, the 42-year-old star of Modern Family, earlier in the evening too.
And this was when her nipples remained safely ensconced in her white Roberto Cavalli 'ironing board' dress.
In a skit variously described as 'gross', 'sexist' and 'bizarre' Vergara was positioned on an onstage pedestal and spun around, lazy Susan-style "like a pie in a display case".
All the while Bruce Rosenblum, chairman of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, waxed lyrical about something, something television while giving Vergara a creepy sidelong look.
"What truly matters," he said, "is that we never forget that our success is based on always giving the viewer something compelling to watch."
Vergara later hit back at tcriticism that she was objectified in the gag.
"I think its absolutely the opposite," she told Entertainment Weekly. "It means that somebody can be hot and also be funny and make fun of herself. I think it's ridiculous that somebody started this—I know who she was—who has no sense of humour [and should] lighten up a little bit."
We have no idea who Vergara was referring to. Perhaps she had a puff of Sarah Silverman's 'pot' vape and was feeling a little paranoid.
Silverman, a teetotaler who colour-coordinated her weed-coloured dress with her weed, showed off her stash to a stunned looking E! host Giuliana Rancic.
"I've got my phone, pot and gum," she said showing off her portable vaporiser filled with marijuana.
"I don't drink, I'm a light weight but I'll have a puff here and there and at the Governor's Ball [the official Emmys after party] what have you."
Silverman later denied being, as Anna Kendrick eloquently put it #HAF A.K.A "high as f*ck", on the red carpet.
Instead, she told TMZ, she waited, like a responsible adult, until the after party to get high.
"I had a pot vaper pen thing for later... I have a little puffaroonie at the end of the night, when all is said and done, because I'm a grown woman."
Silverman said she'd enjoyed the night but the highlight, she said deadpan, was talking to the TMZ journo.
Silverman seemed subdued, despite her earlier win in the "writing, variety special" category for "Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles". Naturally mellow or otherwise, the Emmys seem to elicit little excitement in general.
A recent study by the University of Southern California found that 73 per cent of Americans say they're not "overly excited" by the award show.
Whether or not the Emmys remain relevant is arguable, but it is safe to say that the odd nipple slip and trashbag never go out of fashion in Hollywood.

DiCaprio takes up ice bucket challenge
Hollywood actor Leonardo Dicaprio has stepped up the ice bucket challenge by donating a massive $US100,000 ($A108,195.83) to the ALS Association.
The Titanic star completed the feat in Canada, where he is currently filming a documentary with director Darren Aronofsky about the effects of oil sands drilling.
DiCaprio gathered with the documentary crew to take on the challenge, and pass it on to some of the world’s leading petroleum and oil producers, while the actor also targeted Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
In the video, the actor says, ‘‘I happen to be here in Alberta learning about the Canadian tar sands, its impact on our climate and the way they affect the lands, water and health of the indigenous communities that live here. We’re here to accept the ALS challenge and I’m happy to donate to this very worth cause.’’
The star was then drenched in a bucket of icy water to complete the challenge, which is raising money and awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease and motor neurone disease.
Other stars to have taken on the stunt include fellow Hollywood actors Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Miley’s VMAs date is a wanted man
The homeless youth Miley Cyrus took to the MTV Video Music Awards as her date is wanted by police in his native Oregon for a probation violation.
The pop star pretended Jesse Helt was her new boyfriend as they walked the red carpet together at the Los Angeles prizegiving on Sunday, but he revealed his true identity when Cyrus sent him up onstage to pick up her Video of the Year Moonman trophy for Wrecking Ball to raise awareness about displaced youngsters across the US.
During his acceptance speech, he said, ‘‘My name is Jesse, and I’m accepting this award on behalf of 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth who are starving lost and scared right now.
‘‘I know this because I am one of these people. I have survived in shelters all over this city... Though I may have been invisible to you on the streets I have a lot of the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight.’’
However, Helt’s newfound fame hasn’t been all good for the blond - it has since been revealed there is a warrant out for his arrest in Oregon, relating to previous charges of criminal trespassing and criminal mischief, reports Eonline.com.
The 22 year old, who met Cyrus last week at Hollywood shelter My Friend’s Place, was also arrested and charged with burglary in 2010 after allegedly attempting to break into an Oregon apartment.
Court documents reveal Helt is accused of ignoring the terms of his freedom on numerous occasions by failing to keep his probation officer up-to-date on his whereabouts, failing to take a drug test, breaking his curfew and skipping out on his community service sentence requirements, among other issues.
