The scorer of the most famous penalty in Australian football history against Uruguay to earn the Socceroos qualification to the 2006 World Cup finals spent a couple of hours at Woonona's presentation day.
Despite atrocious weather, Aloisi happily chatted with the club's youngest players and handed out trophies to the under-6 to under-9 mini-roos.
The former striker and coach of A-League side Melbourne Heart made the trip to Ocean Park as part of the IGA Future Soccer Stars promotion, in which Woonona JFC won a $10,000 grant earlier this year.
Woonona JFC, backed by its 400 players, supporters and officials, beat hundreds of other NSW junior football clubs in the special promotion run by IGA with the $10,000 prize proving a windfall for the northern suburbs club.
It has also been a successful season on the field for Woonona, with its under-13 division 1 boys team winning the prestigious NSW State Cup title in a penalty shoot-out in July.
