Corey McAndrew will serve a minimum seven months behind bars after a string of thefts in the Wollongong and Warrawong areas.
Among the crimes, the 20-year-old knicked $248 worth of men’s Bonds trunks from Best and Less in Crown Central, with the help of a female accomplice.
He and a mate also stole two CCTV cameras, worth $70 each, from the eaves of a home in Jackson Avenue, Warrawong.
The security cameras recorded the pair entering the front yard of the premises and removing the devices.
On Monday, McAndrew was found guilty in Port Kembla Local Court of another theft offence, after he colluded with a female friend to steal a handbag from a woman sitting at a bus stop on Crown Street in April.
The court heard the Warrawong man was on two bonds relating to driving offences at the time of the bag snatching and had gone through a patch of homelessness after his Centrelink payments were suspended for nine weeks.
Magistrate Michael Stoddart sentenced him to jail, to be eligible for release in December.
