Big winter seas had deposited a large amount of sand in the pool - enough to bury the children’s pool as well as filling in much of the larger pool.

One regular swimmer, Bulli Sea Lions winter swim club member Hugh Carpenter, told the Mercury he had never seen so much sand in the pool.
