With minimal publicity the show, featuring many local performers, filled a second stage area created at Anita's for smaller shows to help keep the venue active.
But the overwhelming response prompted new owner Nick Josifovski to say he would look at staging the next show in the large theatre.
That will be a dream come true for Ms Bauer and many local dancers who have worked overseas but would love to be able to stage major shows at home so many Illawarra residents can see their internationally recognised skills.
Among the performers who wowed the audience on Saturday were Laura Potter, who has been a Moulin Rouge showgirl, Brittany Doyle, Lisa Maree De Marco, Kate Sharp and Sally Bassuni.
Emma Rodgers, Natasha Lipshus and Ms Bassuni all performed songs along with Nick the King, whose Elvis act added a touch of Viva Las Vegas.
Ms Bauer really appreciated the local response.
"I feel overwhelming joy for the amount of people who came and their reaction to our show," she said.
"There is nothing better for a performer."
