In court on Thursday, his parents, Olga and Stefce Nikolovski, put forward the deeds to two houses to secure their son’s release from custody, as he prepares to fight fresh allegations that he was involved in events leading up to Mr Janceski’s shooting death at Berkeley in April 2012.
Magistrate Susan McGowan imposed a lengthy set of conditions on Nikolovski’s bail, including a nighttime curfew, daily reporting to police, that he surrender his passport, and agree to stay away from airports and international points of departure.
He was also ordered not to contact any prosecution witnesses, either of his two co-accused, Matthew Wiggins and Christopher Madden, or Mr Janceski’s family, and to not go within 300 metres of their Gannet Avenue home.
Nikolovski was first arrested over Mr Janceski’s death in January last year and charged with solicit to murder, however prosecutors dropped proceedings against him in September due to a lack of evidence.
He was re-arrested on Wednesday and charged with being an accessory before the fact to murder.
It is understood the fresh charge relates to an alleged conversation that took place between a person, known only as Witness A and Nikolovski regarding Mr Janceski’s death just after he was killed.
Witness A provided a statement to police about the alleged conversation, prompting the laying of the fresh charge.
Nikolovski’s lawyer, Aaron Kernaghan, reaffirmed outside the court that his client would fight the allegations against him.
Meantime, a further condition imposed on Nikolovski – that he stay away from licensed premises in the Wollongong CBD – relates to a separate allegation put before the court that Nikolovski coward-punched another man outside Fever Nightclub a week ago.
Documents outlining the police case against Nikolovski claim the 40-year-old approached the man, who was walking up Atchison Street outside the club, and punched him in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head.
It is alleged Nikolovski then punched the man again while he was on the ground.
The victim again hit his head and lost consciousness for several minutes, police claim.
Both Nikolovski and the victim left before police arrived, however officers say the incident was captured on CCTV cameras.
Nikolovski will appear in court on both matters on October 29.
