The Community Building Partnership Grant was awarded to childcare provider Big Fat Smile for the development of an outdoor play space.
Director of Corrimal Community Preschool Mine Tekkol thanked Keira MP Ryan Park for supporting the application and the preschool’s parent committee, which also provided funds.
The 120 children at the preschool will use the equipment as part of the environment-focused teaching curriculum.
‘‘We have a play-based learning model which allows children to explore natural environments and to build resilience,’’ Big Fat Smile marketing and communications director Rachel Foster said.
‘‘Environments as places of discovery, play and education extend on the early childhood national curriculum and provide opportunities for children to develop their gross motor, social, creative and cognitive skills.’’
