Why did you apply for an IAS scholarship?
To help me develop all aspects of my game and to give me the skills to compete at the highest level.
What is your pre-competition routine and how long have you been doing it?
I make sure I've had a good night's sleep and a good feed so I can ensure my concentration levels don't drop away during competition.
Who's your favourite professional athlete and why?
Nic Naitanui from the West Coast Eagles (AFL) because he is a great athlete who had an immediate impact on the game from a young age. He's always very competitive, but still looks like he's enjoying himself.
What is your best memory from playing your sport?
Skipping a team to win the Fours Championship at our club and, because of that, being picked to skip a rink in our club's top pennant side.
If you weren't playing this sport what would you be doing?
Either playing AFL or soccer.
When did you start playing your sport and how did you get started?
I started playing bowls four or five years ago. I used to tag along and watch my older brother play, then I started having a roll with him and I enjoyed it so much that I ended up joining the club.
What are the greatest challenges balancing school and sport?
Just being organised. You need to know what commitments you've got coming up so that you can plan when things need to be done by.
What is your biggest disappointment in sport?
Being at the 2005 AFL grand final when Sydney beat the West Coast Eagles then having to drive eight hours back to Wollongong with a Swans supporter in the car.
