• Wollongong pop-punk outfit Mixtape For The Drive have been named to tour the country with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Hawthorne Heights in December. The local band will play Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and many more between on the 13-date tour. No Illawarra date on the bill, but shows in Sutherland and Sydney should be close enough to satisfy Wollongong fans.

• Windang surf rockers Hockey Dad have released the video for new single Seaweed. Another VHS-quality trip through their local area, the boys sink beers, put on a BBQ and visit some kangaroos on a trip down the coast. Hockey Dad are midway through a national tour with Bad Dreems, and play the Blurst Of Times festival in Sydney on October 25.
• Tumbleweed last weekend played their first show since the death of bassist Jay, playing through the emotion in a blistering, thunderous set at the Small World festival in Marrickville. The band have said they will honour several existing gig bookings in Melbourne, but have made no more announcements about their future. Stay tuned.
• The Yours & Owls festival is sold out, but a big afterparty has been announced for Waves nightclub. Midnight Juggernauts will play a DJ set, alongside Indian Summer, Donny Benet, Nick Lynar and the Parkside DJs. Tickets are $20, with the party starting at 8.30pm and continuing until well after the Stuart Park bands finish on October 4.
• Fancy a little roadtrip this weekend? Cronulla festival Sounds Of The Suburbs features Illawarra connections in Step-Panther, The Walking Who and Hockey Dad. It's on Sunday in Wilbar Lane.
• BRUCE will launch their new record at Music Farmers on October 11, with Melbourne band Clowns also playing the afternoon in-store. BRUCE will also tour nationally through November.
• Gig announcements all over the place - Violent Soho play Waves on December 4, The Beautiful Girls play the Unibar on October 16, Lanie Lane does Anita's on October 31, and Trophy Eyes and Endless Heights are at Rad on November 17.
• Kiama's Folk By The Sea festival is on again this weekend. The event, headlined by Damien Leith, takes over the Kiama showground from Friday to Sunday.
