• Wollongong punk outfit Born Lion will undertake a huge Australian tour with Yellowcard and Mayday Parade next July. The four-piece will join the American pop-punk heavyweights on five dates in mid-2015, playing such huge rooms as the Hordern Pavilion and Brisbane venue The Tivoli.
• Speakeasy is a name you want to remember. It is a series of curated warehouse parties, set to pop up in Wollongong for a week later this month. Bands, DJs and Mexican food are the elements of the night, put together by the guys behind ¼ Inch DJs and the LAZE events. Keep an ear out, this will be fun.
• Parkside DJ Chris Barker has been named in the line-up for the Outside In festival in Sydney in November. Barker will play on a bill that includes Seekae, Client Liaison, the Pharcyde and Pantha Du Prince, at the Manning Bar on November 29.
• Don't forget the Yours & Owls birthday festival on Saturday! Tickets for the Stuart Park gig are sold out, but the afterparty at Waves has Midnight Juggernauts, Donny Benet, Indian Summer and Parkside DJs playing into the night. Tickets are just $25 for the late night rager.
• Melbourne hardcore titans Dream On Dreamer have announced a November tour with a Wollongong stop. The five-piece band, who recently played Soundwave festival, play the Hot Damn road trip at Hostage X in Wollongong on November 28.
• Acclaimed US indie band Portugal The Man have announced a huge, free tour of Australia in November, with a stop at Towradgi. Their tour will stop in a number of regional towns nationwide, including Towradgi Beach Hotel on November 21. I saw the band play at Laneway festival several years ago, and they were phenomenal.
• Flavour-of-the-month pop sensations Sheppard have locked in a gig at Waves on October 10, with Microwave Jenny in support. Tickets are on sale now.
