The private business club was launched in July with a dinner hosted by KPMG Wollongong, featuring Coopers Brewery chairman Glenn Cooper, at City Beach Function Centre.
Mr Cooper was the first in a series of influential business speakers KPMG Wollongong partner Warwick Shanks and the team at KPMG want to bring to the region once every three months to deliver different perspectives to local business.
In his address, Mr Cooper spoke of the importance of understanding a business's and business leader's advantages and playing to those strengths; recognising the power of positive messages from customers and clients and sharing them; not forgetting or underestimating your personal impact on the culture and values of a business; and being proud of your company whenever you have any opportunity to represent it.
Mr Shanks said every private business club meeting would try to focus on new business ideas, sharing best practices, and debating the tough issues.
"Our commitment is to provide you with real business tools that you can use in your business. The event will be limited to leaders of significant private and family businesses and their key advisers," he said.
The second private business club meeting will provide invited guests with an insider's preview of GPT Keira West.
