A maiden Test jumper would cap a dream first season in the NRL for the 25-year-old who missed just one match for the Dragons in his debut year.
"A couple of dreams are coming true, winning trophies at my home-town club [Warrington] and then coming out and playing in the NRL," Cooper said.
"This is the next step and hopefully it can be a reality. I'm proud to be part of the squad and if I get the chance to play, I'll love every minute of it."
Cooper arrived at the Dragons with little fanfare last pre-season with the aim of simply cracking the NRL. He said Test selection was the furthest thing from his mind.
"I didn't put any pressure on myself but I knew what I was capable of," Cooper said.
"I'm thankful that Pricey gave me an opportunity in round one which was huge for me after a decent pre-season. It's something I wasn't expecting to play straight away."
He hopes international experience will take his career to greater heights.
"I've won titles back home in England and people might have just settled for that but I want to get the best out of myself and I won't stop until I find what I feel is my best level," he said.
"I don't think I've hit that yet. I really expect to go up a few more levels with the experience I'm going to get now in the Four Nations and I think I'll be a completely different player for 2015."
England have beaten the Kangaroos on Australian soil just twice in 22 years, the last victory coming in 2006 in a game remembered largely for Willie Mason's knockout blow on Stuart Fielden. But Cooper insists his side won't be merely making up the numbers, even without the departing Sam Burgess.
"I think we've got a huge chance of winning the competition," he said.
"One of the things to come out of the grand final was that all the hype was about James Graham and Sam Burgess. I thought George [Burgess] was man of the match, Tom [Burgess] had a really strong game and got nearly 200 metres as well.
"Those three players alone playing as well as they have done in an NRL grand final is a huge boost for us internationally. There's some real quality players in the middle of the park.
"If we can really dominate there, obviously Gaz [Gareth Widdop] can guide us around the field and play off the back of that."
Cooper's selection alongside Dragons teammate Widdop brings the club's Four Nations contingent to four after Gerard Beale and Jason Nightingale were included in the New Zealand squad on Tuesday.
