This Saturday, Scott Radburn is using the venue for a charity fund-raising dinner of entertainment to help his mate, Rikki Organ, who is fighting cancer and trying to meet rising medical costs when he is finding it hard to keep working regularly.
Mr Radburn said, in particular, Robert Specogna of Centro CBD had been a wonderful support to both during their respective award-winning careers.
That is also why renowned violinist Sarah Moir has chosen the venue on October 17 for her bon voyage concert.
Mrs Moir, a member of the internationally acclaimed Sting Angels, is about to embark on a new chapter in her career.
At the end of the month, she is setting sail on the seven seas.
‘‘I’ve been given my own show on cruise ships complete with backing band,’’ she said.
‘‘The reason I’m doing this is so that I can take my family with me wherever I need to travel.
‘‘Being headliner on cruises gives you those kinds of perks,’’ she said. ‘‘I’ve taken the kids out of school to do distance education so that they can join me in my travels.
‘‘They can even play in some of the shows.’’
Before she leaves, Mrs Moir has decided to put on a dinner show at Centro CBD from 6.30pm on Friday, October 17.
It will give Illawarra residents a chance to see the same show that she will be performing on board cruise ships around the world.
