Kiama skipper Matt O'Brien says consistency is a priority as they look to maintain their unbeaten start in Saturday's clash against Oak Flats at Cavalier Park.

Kiama beat premiers Albion Park by 10 wickets in the opening round when chasing down just 142 but O'Brien says his team can still improve.

"We bowled well but had them 9-101 and they made 140-odd so we have to finish things off because you can't give the good teams a sniff," said O'Brien, who took 4-16 against the Eagles.

"It's a pleasing start but [it's] only one game.

"We need to keep playing at a high level and put good performances together game after game."

Meanwhile, Oak Flats are among a number of clubs hard hit by players leaving this season with the Gray brothers, Kieran and Joel, joining Berry, Andrew Newman in the Defence Force and young batting star Michael Arblaster playing Sydney Grade.

Veteran Kerry Penfold's return from a stint with Berry will be a major boost, with the Rats having won three of the past four Twenty20 titles, plus the one-day title in 2012-13.

However, they are looking for their first premiership since 2006-07.

Oak Flats posted a respectable 184 in round one against Lake Illawarra but were gunned down by seven wickets with new Lakers skipper Brendan White (72 not out) and Scott Ulcigrai (57no) putting on a century partnership.

In Saturday's other games, Lake Illawarra are at home to Shellharbour and Kookas host an Albion Park side desperate to improve after a poor round one performance.

The revamped six-team Premier League begins with five one-day games before the first two-dayer in round six on November 22.
