Her choreography received a rare nomination to Callback 2014, an annual showcase of the best HSC dance performances and projects from around the state.
The piece was based on Jessica's experiences at a camp she attended last year where she cared for disabled peers.
"It's a sentimental piece, about my experience and interactions with some beautiful people," she said.
"I was inspired by how people with disabilities communicate in different ways."
Jessica attributed her success to the efforts of Cassandra James, her dance teacher at The Illawarra Grammar School.
"Our teacher gave us the opportunity to see performances and works by great choreographers.
"She gave us a lot of motivation and encouragement."
While other students are furiously cramming in the hope of picking up the ATAR points needed to squeeze into uni courses, Jessica has the luxury of not worrying.
She has already been accepted into ED5 International to complete a two-year diploma of performing arts.
"I want to be a holistic dancer so that's being able to sing and act as well as dance.
"I want to be a triple threat," she said.
Despite early entry university offers, Jessica said she hoped to make a career from dance.
