Officers from Fire and Rescue NSW were called to the Arkell Ave address shortly after 1.30pm, where they found a 1.2-metre snake had hidden itself in the family’s barbecue.
Officers caught the snake and later released it in bushland at Mt Keira.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said that snakes become more active with the warmer weather so home owners should be vigilant.
Should a snake be spotted, call Fire and Rescue NSW immediately.
