Sky's The Limit gives people with a disability the chance to enjoy the experience of competing.
It is held at the athletics centre at Beaton Park and among those competing on Thursday was Rocco Musumeci, 22, of Mount Keira.
Mr Musumeci has mild autism and enjoyed competing in the 50, 100 and 200-metre races.
But he said the best thing was to get out and enjoy the fun and atmosphere, and meet new friends.
"I got a silver medal on the 100 metres today," he said.
Mr Musumeci is also an avid soccer player and has been involved with Essential Employment and Training programs for about two years.
He has done work experience at Rebel Sport and the Department of Education and is doing a Certificate in Business at TAFE.
He said Essential was giving him an opportunity to reach his goals and fulfil a dream.
"I would just like to get a job in an office," he said.
Brady Rengger, 17, of Fairy Meadow was also involved.
He is in year 12 at TIGS and took part as a volunteer helper.
"This is my first time," he said.
"It means a lot to be involved. It is such an inspiring event. It is such a great day."
Amanda Calwell-Smith said it had been going seven years and this was the largest turnout to date.
"We have 240 people with a disability from Sydney, Goulburn and as far south as Ulladulla."
Mrs Calwell-Smith said the event was about awareness raising and community integration.
"It really is a showcase for diversity," she said.
"The young people with disabilities look forward to this each year. It is very popular. And our staff love it."
