Wollongong charity Need A Feed's latest food drive will be held at Berkeley Neighbourhood Centre on November 11.
A donation of $15 provides clients with fresh fruit, vegetables and non-perishable food, as well as some personal care items.
"The donation helps to keep our food programs running, and part will go towards the purchase of a food delivery van," Need A Feed coordinator Shaz Harrison-Shaw said.
"We are also looking for businesses to donate excess stock or close to use-by date and end-of-line food stocks too."
To register for the food drive call the neighbourhood centre on 4271 1661.
Mrs Harrison-Shaw also encouraged people to download the Need a Feed app, so people can register their workplace as a food collection point, request a food donation pick-up, find the closest food donation drop-off and find free, low-cost meals.
Meantime, Need A Feed has received much-needed support from The Illawarra Babywearers.
Group spokeswoman Kimberly Cottom said more than 100 people attended an International Babywearing Week event in Wollongong on October 11, helping raise $425 for Need A Feed.
"We also collected around 200 food and personal items for Need A Feed to give to struggling families across the Illawarra," Ms Cottom said.
"We chose Need A Feed to donate to because we wanted to help a charity that helps local families in need. As a group that is created by and centred around families, Need A Feed really stood out to us."
