The three-day tournament features the top teenage country players, with Illawarra drawn to meet Riverina and Southern to face Western Zone in Friday's round one.
Illawarra should have a strong bowling attack, with Wests Illawarra's Jarrod Colliss and Port Kembla's Anthony Purdevski impressing in first grade this season.
Purdevski has taken seven wickets in the opening two rounds, while 16-year-old Colliss is in the senior Illawarra rep team.
Joining Illawarra and Southern are the other six NSW country zones - Riverina, Western, Central Northern, Central Coast, Newcastle and North Coastal.
Besides the carnival honours, players are chasing a spot in the NSW Country under-17s team.
Illawarra squad: Shay Brady, Jarrod Colliss, Taylor Harvey, Nicholas Henderson, Aaryn Kornberger, Sameer Murthy, Anthony Purdevski, Jason Ralston, Kieren Richards, Kyle Trebel, Raman Wadhwa, Calllum Waldock. Coaches: Tim Carter, Mark Waldock, Steve Davies.
