The four-round junior series kicked off at Shellharbour Beach last Saturday with round two at Towradgi Beach on November 8 and the final two rounds at Warilla on November 15 and Thirroul on November 29.
The series is open to all Illawarra and South Coast clubs and attracts some of the top junior surf lifesavers from Sydney competing in water and beach events, from under 8s to under 14s.
This year more than 45 clubs from across NSW are represented, with 750 junior competitors nominated.
Juniors compete in beach sprint and beach flags, while the water events comprise of wade in under 8s, with all other age groups competing in the board, swim and Ironman events.
Now in its 13th year, the series is the longest running in Australia and has the largest prize pool for a junior surf lifesaving series.
Male and female champions in the water events from under 9s to under 14s win competition race boards from leading manufacturer and series sponsor Hayden Surf Craft, while other prize packs from Engine Swim are awarded down to sixth place in all categories.
The Sydney Water series features an individual points-score championship with scores added together from each of the four rounds, while clubs compete for the overall club championship.
Points are not awarded in under 8s but begin from under 9s through to veterans.
