Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery officially launched Viva La Gong with help from some of the acts that will be performing at this year's event, including the Srikandi Indonesian Dance School, "mud stompers" from SOL Cultural Arts, and KMA Martial Arts.
Viva La Gong will be held on November 8 at MacCabe Park and includes a mix of live music, circus and cabaret performances, dance and visual arts, along with a food fair, art and design markets and children's activities.
The performances will be spread across four stages, with the headline acts including Con Artists, Justin Frew's Loose Intentions, Bec Laughton, Stretch Zephyr, Gang of Youth and Shining Bird.
A circus tent, La Petite Grande, will provide the stage for comedy, hula-hooping, magic tricks and other circus performances.
The day's activities will start at 11am with a street parade from the Arts Precinct to MacCabe Park via Crown Street Mall.
