Enter stage left: a mother, father and daughter trio, a grandmother and her two granddaughters, and a mother and son, all performing under the same roof.
"It's been lovely. We've just got these amazing combinations of family members all working together, it's really nice to see them share the experience," he said.
The families help make up his cast of more than 65 performers, varying in age from seven to 70, along with Carly, a small dog, which plays Annie's beloved pooch Sandy.
"People keep saying I must have been cursed in a past life to work with children and animals. I just keep doing it," Streek laughed. "Carly has been really good - she has her moments, sometimes she just runs off-stage, but we're hoping all will go to plan on the night".
The musical tells the rags-to-riches tale of orange-haired Annie as she moves from a New York orphanage to billionaire Oliver Warbuck's home.
Streek said audiences should expect famous songs Tomorrow and It's A Hard Knock Life, along with a tale of compassion and optimism.
"I think in this day and age, there is so much doom and gloom that people are looking for something uplifting," he said.
Annie opens on Friday.
