Premiership-winning Thirroul coach Nathan Fien has put himself on the market following the Butchers securing Luke Swain to lead the club in its title defence.
Thirroul announced on Friday the signing of Swain as coach, as well as former Penrith, NSW and Australian enforcer Trent Waterhouse for the 2015 season.
Swain played at Penrith, Gold Coast and Salford City in England during his 170-game professional career, while Waterhouse racked up 12 Tests in the green and gold as well as 245 games for the Panthers and Warrington Wolves.
It's big news for the defending premiers but the signings leave Fien in limbo for next Illawarra Coal League season.
After retiring from the NRL last year, the now-35-year-old took over at Thirroul and led the club to the Coal League crown.
He says he isn't sure where he will end up now.
"I would have liked to have done the Butchers job again but obviously it didn't work out," Fien said.
"To be honest I'm letting the dust settle a little bit.
"Coaching is what I want to be doing but there's only a certain number of jobs obviously.
"I've obviously got a young family and some other commitments as well, like with commentary, that I want to pursue.
"If I get itchy feet towards the start of the season then I'll have a think about it but at this stage I'm just busy enjoying summer."
Fien, who has been linked to Collegians, revealed he was in discussions with rival Coal League club Corrimal, before the Cougars announced Brendon Reeves as coach earlier this week.
"I did have some initial discussions with Corrimal around coaching but I was hoping to stay on board with the Butchers," he said.
"I was looking at another couple of opportunities away from the Coal League that didn't eventuate.
"It's a tough business coaching, you need to be in the right place at the right time and unfortunately I haven't got anything for next year.
"But that's the way it goes, sometimes you have to move on and wait around for an opportunity."
While Fien is eyeing off a coaching gig for 2015, he says he is in no rush to put pen to paper.
At Thirroul, meantime, Swain is the man tasked with defending the club's 2014 premiership alongside new acquisition Waterhouse.
"The close-knit nature of the club is something we value and this will be further promoted by the coaching staff in 2015," Butchers president Shane Millard said.
"Trent ... is a big boy who will provide us with some size which we haven't had in recent years."
